Founded in 1922, The TORCH is the official student newspaper of St. John’s University. The TORCH is written, edited, designed and produced by students of the university. All contents are the sole responsibility of the editors and the editorial board and do not necessarily represent the views of the administration, faculty or students of St. John’s University unless specifically stated.
The TORCH is typically published on Wednesdays, approximately 20 issues throughout the academic year. Circulation per issue is 5,000 copies distributed free on campus (first copy is free, additional copies are 75 cents each). Free mail subscriptions are available upon request.

The TORCH is a member of the Associated Collegiate Press and was inducted into the ACP Hall of Fame in 1998 by the National Scholastic Association.
